Kathmandu: Unverified reports circulating in international media and online platforms have claimed that the United States carried out a major military operation in Venezuela, allegedly resulting in the arrest of President Nicolás Maduro. However, no independent confirmation has been provided by Venezuelan authorities, the United Nations, or international monitoring bodies.
According to the claims, a U.S. military operation referred to as “Operation Absolute Resolve” involved airstrikes in Caracas and the deployment of special forces. The reports further allege that President Maduro was detained and taken to the United States. These assertions have not been substantiated by official sources.
International reactions cited in the reports include concern expressed by several countries and calls for restraint and respect for international law. The United Nations has reiterated its longstanding position that sovereignty, human rights and the UN Charter must be upheld in all circumstances.
Venezuelan Vice President Delcy Rodríguez has reportedly denied knowledge of President Maduro’s whereabouts and demanded credible evidence regarding his status. Meanwhile, conflicting narratives continue to emerge, contributing to uncertainty and heightened tension.
Analysts warn that the spread of unverified information related to military actions and regime change can significantly impact regional stability and global diplomacy. Observers have urged the public to rely only on confirmed statements from credible international institutions.
